Mont-Saint-Michel

Mont-Saint-Michel is an absolute must-see. A free shuttle runs from the large car park towards the mount, although the walk across the bridge is beautiful too. On the island you can wander through narrow streets and visit the impressive abbey. Views across the bay complete the day.

Domfront and medieval towns

Domfront is close to the tiny house and is a beautiful town to visit. Walk through the old centre, admire the timber-framed houses and enjoy the views from the castle ruins. Fougères and Falaise are also excellent destinations for anyone who loves medieval towns and castles.

Bayeux and its famous tapestry

Bayeux has an atmospheric historic centre and is best known for the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry. This nearly thousand-year-old embroidery tells the story of William the Conqueror. The cathedral, old streets and welcoming terraces make Bayeux ideal for a full day out.

Caen, castles and museums

Caen combines history with the energy of a lively city. You can visit William the Conqueror’s castle, walk through the centre and choose from several museums. Avranches is also worth visiting, with views across the bay and a museum displaying ancient manuscripts from Mont-Saint-Michel.
